Who we are

HeightVersus (heightversus.com) is operated by Praveen Kumar, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, see Contact or email hello@heightversus.com.

The short version

There are no accounts on this site, and nothing you enter into a calculator or the comparison board is sent to or stored on a server. A shared board link encodes the comparison directly in the URL; an uploaded image is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. The only personal data this site may process is standard web analytics (with your consent) and, once enabled, advertising identifiers for ad personalisation (also with your consent).

What data we collect, and why

Heights, names and board/calculator inputs

Nothing you type into a calculator or the comparison board — heights, names, ages, parents' heights — is transmitted to or stored on our servers. Calculators run entirely in your browser. The board's state (subjects, heights, colours) is encoded in the page's own URL when you choose to share a link; we don't keep a copy of it anywhere else.

Uploaded images

If you upload your own image to use as a board silhouette, it's processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to a server. It isn't included in a shared link either — anyone who opens a link you share sees a generic silhouette in its place.

Analytics

With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages and tools get used, in aggregate. GA4 sets cookies and uses your IP address briefly for geolocation before it's processed; Google's own privacy policy governs how it handles that data on our behalf. Analytics only runs after you accept it in the cookie banner, or choose to turn it on under "Manage preferences" — see Cookie Policy.

Advertising

This site plans to show ads via Google AdSense once the site has launched and been approved. Ads, once enabled, will only be personalised for visitors who consent; without consent, only non-personalised ads (or none) will be shown, in line with Google's EU/UK consent requirements. This policy will be updated with the specifics once AdSense is live.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, processes standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) as part of operating its network and protecting it against abuse. We don't access this data for any other purpose. See Cloudflare's own privacy documentation for detail on how it handles this.

Contact

If you email us, we'll hold that email (and any reply) only for as long as needed to deal with your query, then delete it within a reasonable period unless we need to keep it longer for a legal reason.

Cookies and consent

We ask for your consent before any analytics or advertising cookie is set, via the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time — see Cookie Policy for the full list of what each category does and how to change your preference.

International transfers

Google (Analytics and, once enabled, AdSense) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Google is certified under, and relies on, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to data portability where applicable. Since this site doesn't operate accounts and stores essentially no personal data server-side, most requests will simply confirm we hold nothing beyond anonymised analytics (which you control via the cookie banner). To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the details above. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone we know to be under 13. The growth/percentile and predictor calculators are intended for use by parents, carers or adults researching the topic, not for data submission by children themselves — and in any case, nothing typed into them is sent anywhere.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if how the site handles data changes — for example, once AdSense is live — and update the "last updated" date above when we do.
