About HeightVersus
An independent, original height comparison tool — built to be fast, sourced, and genuinely useful, not another copy of the sites already in this niche.
What this site is
HeightVersus is a free, animated visual height comparison board and a set of five height calculators — a unit converter, a height difference calculator, an average-height-by-country tool, a growth percentile calculator, and a child height predictor. Alongside the tools, the site publishes long-form guides answering specific height questions, each one backed by a cited primary source rather than a guess.
Add anyone or anything to the board — a person, an animal, a dinosaur, a landmark — and see them compared to scale, with a shareable link that encodes the comparison itself rather than relying on an account or a database.
Why it exists
Height comparison tools already exist, and some have large libraries built up over years. This site doesn't try to out-feature them on day one. It aims to do something narrower well: load fast on a phone, explain scale through genuinely smooth animation rather than a static chart, and back every number — percentiles, averages, growth ages — with a source you can actually check, not a figure that's been copied from site to site until no one can trace where it started.
Every illustration on the board is original artwork, and every health-adjacent calculator (percentile, predictor) is clearly labelled as an estimate, cites WHO/CDC methodology, and is not medical advice.
Who builds it
HeightVersus is built and maintained by Praveen Kumar, an independent UK-based developer who builds a small portfolio of niche websites and tools. It's a solo project: one person writing the code, sourcing the data, and standing behind the numbers published here.
How the numbers work
Full detail on every calculation — unit conversion, the percentile method, country averages, the child height predictor, and how the board itself scales subjects — is on the Methodology page. Every dataset and article citation is listed on Sources.
